Re-labelling

Re-labelling

Re-labelling and garment finishing - not a problem for non retail, but for most of our customers not an option if we want to present a finished product. We can supply and apply the woven or printed labels, swing tickets, stickers and bags, to ensure you don't get laughed out of the buyer's office when selling into the high street, or get a call from disgruntled of Chipping Sodbury when selling online.

What are my label and re-labelling options?

We really prefer to supply high definition woven labels for re-labelling, because they look nicer than printed labels, but you can have printed labels too if you like!

End Fold labels:

As it would suggest, this label is folded at either end, and stitched onto the garment on the left and right hand side. Often used in the pursuit of a more couture look, end fold labels can be clean looking, minimal, and add high end value. A typical end fold label size might be 1cm high by 5cm long. This form of re labelling also has the advantage of being able to sit above the simple size tags that are in the garments in our street wear section, meaning your labels do not need to be individually sized, which can be a cost saving.

Loop Fold labels:

You guessed it; they’re a looped label, folded back on itself and stitched into the neck tape with one stitch line across the top. Loop fold labels, in our view, give a more street look, the label to get you properly down with the kids. They do mean it’s a good idea to have the size on each one, because when re labelling we’ll take any other branded garment labels completely out of the back neck, but within our minimum 1000 label run, you can divide the sizes into 250S, 250M, 250L, 250XL. The other advantage with a loop fold label is they give you an underside that can have all the wash care instructions on, and if we get our way, a little hidden message, just to show that attention to detail, and weirdness.

Hot Cut labels:

Well they’re all hot cut so no itchy necks, but what we mean by a hot cut label is a flat label, no folds. This label would need stitching on all four sides when re labelling, and give that Jack Willsy locker patch look. It means a hot cut  label will often be bigger for more impact, sometimes on the inside of the neck, sometimes on the outer of the garment...again quite a street look, but also good as a vintage label onto a more washed T-shirt or sweatshirt...a nice punchy label option.

Hem Tab labels:

These labels would sit on the bottom hem, front or back of the garment, perhaps on a t-shirt sleeve, and also working well on the cuff of a sweatshirt or hood, and even on the hood itself. The hem tab label is to give you a discreet extra branding point on the garment, with higher definition than embroidery. As a re labelling option, the hem tab label perhaps as much as anything, will give the garment the look of being the work of a proper brand.

High Definition Woven Badges:

Yes, a badge and not a label, but my favourite method of adding value to the brand. A high definition woven badge will as it name suggests, hold incredible label detail, so we can if we like make the badge really quite discreet, while keeping a lovely clean look. When the graphic is right, a high definition woven badge will take a quality garment, and turn it into something that really looks worth a high price point, perfect for adding a sense of heritage and class.

Swing Tickets:

Not a label, but belonging in this section none the less, a good swing ticket will ice the cake. We don’t see many garments in store that don’t have swing tickets, so budget permitting, we need them. Swing tickets come in many forms, from the basic lighter weight cards, through to very heavy card, with perhaps a UV gloss or gold foil block. Swing tickets can be applied with a simple string, a pin, or again if you want to look the part, a lovely thick ribbon...or go the full nine yards and make a swing ticket that is also a sticker...it’s all possible.

What do I do next?

Simple – all we need for woven labels, high definition woven badges, and swing tickets, is an email to info@october.co.uk  of your artwork at 300 dpi, specifying end fold label, loop fold label, hot cut label, hem tab label, high definition woven badge or swing ticket, with the dimensions you would like it to be. If you have a pic of a label that you like, feel free to send that too so we can see your preferred finish.

What do we do next?  We will then...
