Many hours were spent at October HQ looking at films, poems, spread sheets, and a picture of a badger in a bowler hat. Biscuits were eaten, tea was consumed, there was a small row and a fight on the loading bay, but eventually, a decision was made.<\/p>\n<p>We are bearded and wizened, after many years at sea on the good ship fashion &#8211; drinking rum, fighting sharks, and falling in love with people we wouldn\u2019t usually speak to, as a result of close confinement. So it\u2019s all been a rather warm reminder of the levels of ambition and creativity that still exist in the civilian world. Many stories were heartfelt \u2013 there were the religious, the destitute, the disenfranchised and the multi-millionaire\u2026the dreamers and schemers, would be world dominators, and there were furry moments of ever so humble hope. And there was also, death \u2013 what better inspiration to live life? Sounds pretty serious? Well maybe starting a fashion brand is.<\/p>\n<p>The winner, a nice chap called <a href=\"http:\/\/bertandbellablog.weebly.com\/aliveinus-x-bert--bella\">Calum and his brand Alive in U<\/a>s, will be featured in a forthcoming case study. We will endeavour to explain his story, and follow the production process around his new clothing brand. With any luck this will be illuminating in some way for those of you still wanting to become the next Yves Saint Laurent.
